The Daljir Party (DP) (Somali: Xisbiga Daljir), abbreviated DP in English and XD in the Somali language, is a social conservative political party in Somalia. It has developed from the tradition of Islamism, but has officially abandoned this ideology in favour of "conservative democracy".. Daljir party seems as the largest Somali political party and most members of party are former members of government of Sharif Sheikh Ahmed most famous leaders of party include former minister of interior affairs Abdilqadir Ali Omar as well as Abdil karim hussien Jama former minister of information. Its leader, Hassan Moalim, is a former state minister for presidential palace, while the party's General Secretary Ahmed Moalim Fiqi is the former director of Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency.[1][2]
Overview
On 1 December 2015, the party held a large ceremony for its first anniversary, and attended by many political and civic figures of Somalia including former ministers, MPs and clerics. The event took place at the popular Maka al-Mukaram hotel and was attended by hundreds of people, most of whom were members of party.
