Damian Grammaticas

Damian Grammaticas (born June 1970 in Nairobi) is a British journalist, working for the BBC.

Early life and education

Of Greek descent,[1] Grammaticas was born and grew up in Kenya. In 1992 he graduated in English literature from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. He took a diploma in broadcast journalism at Cardiff University.[2]

Career

In 1994 Grammaticas joined BBC Television News as a trainee reporter. From 1995 he reported for Look East and for BBC Radio. He moved to London in 1998 and reported for BBC World Television, BBC News 24 and BBC Television News.[2]

He became Hong Kong correspondent from 2000, covering stories from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia and the Philippines. Grammaticas became BBC Moscow correspondent in June 2003.[2]
