Damon Ieremia Salesa (born 30 December 1972) is a Samoan New Zealand academic. Raised in East Tāmaki, he attended Selwyn College and then the University of Auckland.[1] Salesa was the first Rhodes Scholar of Pacific descent.[2] He is currently head of the Pacific Studies at the University of Auckland.[3] He is married to Jenny Salesa, a lawyer and member of the New Zealand parliament for the Labour Party.[4]
