Dan Madigan is an American television producer, author and screenwriter.[1] He is known for his work in the professional wrestling industry, including writing and producing for WWE Smackdown.[2]
While with WWE, Madigan developed new characters and storylines (including the infamous Kane/Lita/Matt Hardy/SNITSKY pregnancy story arc).[3]
Works
Madigan was the screenwriter for WWE Films' See No Evil (Lionsgate, 2006), and wrote the novelization.
In 2007, Madigan was working with Tobe Hooper, the director of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Poltergeist, regarding a horror project - Tequila Joe.
He is also the author of Mondo Lucha A Go-Go (Harper Collins, 2007) which describes in vivid detail, the world of lucha libre wrestling. For contractual reasons, Mondo was written after his employment at WWE and is dedicated to Madigan's late friend Eddie Guerrero. SLAM! Sports praised Mondo for appealing to both fans and non-fans, and for its collection of photos and film poster reproductions.[4]
Madigan currently writes the "Bruises and Contusions" blog and other articles under the luchador name "Baron von Bava" or "Baron von Lustmord" including for ultimodragon.com[5]

Mondo Lucha A Go-Go manages to walk that delicate balance between what a wrestling fan might want in a book, and what a curious non-fan might be interested in. Madigan does justice to lucha libre, never descending into cultural stereotypes or clichés. As far as English books on lucha libre, Mondo Lucha A Go-Go has no equal.
