Daniel “Scooter” Smith (born November 11, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player.
Smith attended Colgate University where he captained the Colgate Raiders in the NCAA's ECAC Hockey conference. In his senior year Smith scored 24 goals and 17 assists for 41 points to lead the ECAC in goals, and was named to the 2002–03 All-ECAC Second Team.[1]
Immediately following is graduation, Smith made his professional debut playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Syracuse Crunch near the end of the 2002–03 AHL season.
Smith retired following the 2010–11 season spent with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.
