Daniele Rustioni
Daniele Rustioni is an Italian conductor who was a 2013 recipient of the Best Newcomer of the Year award at the International Opera Awards.[1]

2007-2011
He studied in Milan under guidance from Gilberto Serembe and then attended Accademia Musicale Chigiana where his teacher was Gianluigi Gelmetti. In 2007 he made his first public appearance with Orchestra of the Teatro Regio and by October of next year performed Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana. From 2009 to 2010 the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera's editor Enrico Girardi called him exceptionally talented and by September 2010 he made his first appearance in La Scala[2] where he returned in October of 2012[1] with Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème.[2]
2011-2013
In March 2011, he conducted Giuseppe Verdi's work called Aida at the Royal Opera House which was followed by Un ballo in maschera which was also based on Verdi's work and was directed by Damiano Micheletto in the summer of 2013. His 2012 summer was spent in various music festivals such as Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Rossini Opera Festival where he performed Gioachino Rossini's Il signor Bruschino. He is also a frequent guest on various Italian shows such as the Musical Afternoons of Milan and recorded a CD of his work where he performs with baritone Erwin Schrott and the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra.[2]
Current and future appearances
Currently he conducts in such theatres as the Italian Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Venice's La Fenice[1] and both Opera North and Welsh National Opera of the United Kingdom where he conducts rehearsals for Così fan tutte and Anna Bolena.[2] He also was a participant of the Glimmerglass Festival in the United States and in March 2013 was a conductor of the Washington National Opera following by becoming music director of the Teatro Petruzzelli during the same year.[1] In June 2014 he is scheduled to perform with such opera houses as the Opéra National de Lyon and the National Opera of Monaco as well as Bavarian State Opera and many others. It also have been confirmed by him that he will appear at the Paris Opera and The Netherlands Opera.[2]
