Managerial career

In 2014 Gomez made the transition from player to head coach for the York Region Shooters. In his debut season as head coach Gomez managed to achieve an undefeated season which led to York Region clinching the Regular season as champions. The achievement marked a new milestone as York Region become the second club in CSL history to go undefeated; the first being the Ottawa Wizards in 2003. He managed to win the Double by winning the CSL Championship by defeating second place team Toronto Croatia in penalties.[6] At the conclusion of the season, Gomez was awarded the CSL Coach of the Year award.[7]
