Dave Harris (born February 25, 1971) is an American disc jockey, songwriter, and musician.[1]
He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky and has hosted the syndicated radio show, Retro Rewind since 1999. Harris created Retro Rewind in October 1997. He also wrote for other syndicated radio shows in the late 1980s. In 1998 Harris took a leave of absence from Retro Rewind to manage the band The Outfield.[2][3]
Harris is also a songwriter, having penned a Top 20 hit on the Billboard magazine adult contemporary charts in April 2005 called, "Sunset Blvd".[4] It was a song he co-wrote with singer and actor Scott Grimes.[4]
In 2005 Grimes released an album entitled, Livin On The Run with Harris co-writing several songs on the album.[5] Grimes and Harris have had a handful of songs end up in TV and film as well. In July 2010 Scott Grimes released "Drive", his first new music in 5 years. Harris co-wrote and executive-produced all the songs on the album Drive (Scott Grimes album) which featured the AC radio hit, "Hide".
Harris has also lent his songwriting talent to others. He's co-written songs with the likes of Rob Thomas (musician), Jon Secada, Julian Lennon, Michael J. Willett, Rick Springfield, John Waite, Billy Burnette, Scott Grimes, Adam Jensen (musician) and Billy Montana.
