David Arch

David Arch is a British musician, composer, arranger and musical director.

Career

Arch is the current arranger and musical director of the Strictly Come Dancing house band, as well as the band's pianist and guitarist.[1] Prior to this, he worked on Just the Two of Us.[2]

Production Music

In 1983, Arch recorded a series of LPs on red vinyl for UK-based Cavendish Music Library, which also feastured Ray Russell on guitar. In 2005, Arch played keyboards for the Greg Lake Band.[3]

Arch was commissioned to produce the original themes and stings for the British television broadcaster GMTV. Subsequent themes were all based on his original melody.

Film and Television work

Arch toured with Paul McCartney in support of his Memory Almost Full album, and has contributed to the soundtracks of The Queen, the Harry Potter series, Bridget Jones's Diary, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Foyle's War and The King's Speech.

More recently, Arch was musical director and band leader for the television special When Miranda Met Bruce. He served as the chairperson of the British jury panel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria.
