David Brainerd Christian School

David Brainerd Christian School (DBCS) was a Christian school located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The school was named for the missionary named David Brainerd. DBCS was established in 2002[1] to meet the needs of students of Brainerd Baptist School, a Chattanooga elementary school. The campus consists of one middle and a high school building, gymnasium, football field and baseball and softball fields.

DBCS was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.[2]

The David Brainerd mascot was the Wildcat.

History

The original middle school building was bought from the bankrupt Hamilton Christian School. The high school building and gymnasium were later built. The school closed its doors on June 9, 2009 due to low enrollment and a subprime loan of over $4 million.

During the 2007-2008 school year, DBCS expanded its cross country program, adding middle school cross country, introducing track and field to its student body.
