David Griffiths (rugby league)

David Griffiths is a former rugby player who turned coach in 1998, having been forced to retire early after being injured whilst playing Rugby Union Sevens in Hong Kong 1997. He contributed initially to developing youth rugby union and rugby league, before returning to professional rugby in 2001. Since then he has made successful coaching contributions at Hull Kingston Rovers (2003/2005), The Bradford Bulls (2006/2007) and The Doncaster Rugby League Club (2008/2009) to name but a few.

During the same period he has supported the development of University Rugby League, having success with the Leeds University and the Celtic Nations sides. Having held the position; Director of RL Deutschland (2005–2010) [1][2] he put in place administrative and coaching resources so to aid the development of rugby clubs of Germany.[3] Whilst he no longer holds the position; Director of Rugby League Germany, he continues to support the growth of Rugby League in Europe.
