David Guttenfelder

David Guttenfelder (1969-present) is an American photographer from Iowa, chief Asia photographer for the Associated Press, known for his photos of North Korea.

Life

Guttenfelder was born in Iowa.[1] He is a graduate of the University of Iowa.[2] He studied Swahili at the University of Dar es Salaam, and was a freelance photographer in East Africa.[3]

He is known for his photos of North Korea.[4][5][2][6][7]

As of 2012, he was the Chief Asia Photographer for the Associated Press.[7] He lives in Tokyo.[3]
