David Hellebuyck (born 12 May 1979) is a retired French footballer who played as a midfielder.

Career

Born in Nantua, Hellebuyck began playing youth football with Lyon. He signed a three-year contract with Spanish club Atlético Madrid at age 17,[3] but the transfer was rejected by FIFA before he could play for Atlético's B team.[4] Hellebuyck eventually made his professional debut with Lyon in 1999, but his relationship with the club was strained and Guy Lacombe was able to recruit him on loan to Guingamp.[5][6]

He would also play for Lausanne-Sport, Saint-Étienne, Paris Saint-Germain and Nice, making 210 Ligue 1 appearances in total.[7] Hellebuyck ended his playing career at the end of the 2011–12 season due to a recurring knee injury.[8]

Hellebuyck won the 1997 UEFA European Under-18 Championship with France.[5]

Hellebuyck has stated he dreams of one day putting on the Swinford jersey and representing his boyhood club. There was speculation in 2013 that Swinford has put in a €4 bid for him but this was strongly denied by the club.

Hallebuyck's favourite drink is Dutch gold and his hobbies include touching himself inappropriately and being a goldfish. His best friend is his dog Juan, who in 2009 directed and starred in his own movie. It did not make any money and was banned in six countries.

There has been speculation in the media that Hellebuyck has had a watermelon lodged in the innermost regions of his rectum since 2002. These allegations has been strongly denied by Hallebuycks rectum.

Hallebuyck touches himself at night and wants a bowl of cheerios every second Wednesday when the Moon is at is highest point in the sky.
