David Hickey is a former Gaelic footballer and current selector for Dublin, now a doctor and the current Director of Transplantation in Ireland.

Hickey was awarded two all-stars for Dublin in 1974 and 1976. He won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship with Dublin on three occasions in 1974, 1976 and again in 1977. David has won two National football league medals with Dublin in 1976 and 1978.

Hickey today is a consultant urologist and transplant surgeon, based at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. He has been tipped to become a selector for the Dublin football panel, replacing Paul Nugent for the 2010 Gaelic football season.[1]
