David Lacy-Scott

David Geffrey Lacy-Scott (born 18 August 1920) was an English cricketer.

Born in Calcutta, Lacy-Scott was educated at Marlborough College and Cambridge University. He served in the British Indian Army during the Second World War, receiving a emergency commission in to the Royal Indian Army Service Corps on 27 October 1941.[1] He relinquished his commission on account of ill-health, 22 December 1945, and was granted the honorary rank of Captain.[2]

Lacy-Scott made ten first-class cricket appearances for Cambridge University Cricket Club, almost all of which came in the 1946 English cricket season.[3] His performances for the University side attracted the attention of Kent County Cricket Club, who invited him to play in their County Championship fixture against Sussex in August 1946.[4] He had previously played in two Minor Counties Championship matches for Kent's second eleven in 1938 and 1939.[5]

He finished his first-class career with 294 runs, while his fast-medium bowling took nine wickets in all.[6]

He now resides in rural Suffolk.
