David Lopez-Carr

David Lopez-Carr

David Lopez-Carr is a geography professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara and Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He received a PhD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in geography and a BA in Hispanic Literature with a minor in geology from Bates College. At UCSB he directs the Human-Environment Dynamics Lab. He is director of Latin American and Iberian Studies. He speaks six languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, and Q'eqchi Maya.[1][2]

The task force is charged with launching an international research program to investigate the health risks associated with global environmental change and try to develop realistic solutions (2007-2010).
