David Smith (1980s rugby league)

David Smith was a rugby league footballer of the 1980s and 1990s. He played for the Eastern Suburbs Roosters from 1987 to 1991 and the Newcastle Knights from 1993 to 1994. He also played in England for the Widnes Vikings from 1988 to 1989.

Playing career

County Cup final appearances

David Smith played as an Interchange/Substitute (replacing Prop Chris Ashurst) and scored a try in Widnes' 24-18 victory over Salford in the 1990 Lancashire Cup final during the 1990–91 season at Central Park, Wigan on Saturday 29 September 1990.

Regal Trophy final appearances

David Smith played Right-Prop, i.e. number 10, in Widnes' 24-0 victory over Leeds in the 1991–92 Regal Trophy final during the 1991–92 season at Central Park, Wigan on Saturday 11 January 1992.
