David Stone, MBE, (born 30 April 1981) is an English and British para-cyclist.
Stone specialises in the Road Race and Time Trial events, winning Gold Medals in both events at Paralympic and World Championship level. In 2009 he was awarded an MBE.[1]
Early life
David was born in Birmingham in 1981. He started cycling aged 8, and competed in his first race aged 15, when he was spotted by the manager of the Great Britain team.
Disability
David suffers from Cerebral Palsy.[2] He has described cycling as an outlet of frustration, and a source of freedom and enjoyment.[3]
