Dachuan District (Chinese: 达川区) is a district of Dazhou in northeastern Sichuan province. In 1999, it had a population of 1,247,085 inhabitants residing in an area of 2,688 square kilometres (1,038 sq mi).[1] It was called Da County (simplified Chinese: 达县; traditional Chinese: 達縣; pinyin: Dá Xiàn) or Daxian, until July 2013, when it became a district of Dazhou.[2]
