Day Pitney

Day Pitney LLP is a U.S. law firm with close to 300 attorneys spread across eleven offices in five states and the District of Columbia. It is one of the largest law firms in the Northeastern United States. In 2011, Day Pitney ranked 139th on the National Law Journal's list of the 250 largest American law firms.[1]

History

Day Pitney LLP was formed in January 2007 by the merger of two firms:[2] the Hartford, Connecticut-based Day, Berry & Howard LLP (founded 1919), which was one of the largest firms in New England, and Pitney Hardin LLP (founded 1902), which had been based in New York and New Jersey.[3]

Practice Areas

The firm has practices in litigation, probate, trusts and estates, labor & employment, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, municipal finance, real estate, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, tax law, insurance law, intellectual property, and energy law.[4] The firm's main client base consists of middle-market companies, but they also represent some of the larger companies of the Fortune 500 as well as individuals. The firm has offices in Boston, Connecticut (Greenwich, Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, and West Hartford), Florida (Boca Raton and Delray Beach), New York City, Parsippany, NJ, and Washington, D.C.[6]
