DeAndre Ayton (born July 23, 1998) is a Bahamian basketball player.
Career
Ayton was born in the Bahamas and moved to San Diego, California in the United States.[1] In San Diego he attended Balboa City School before transferring to Hillcrest Hoops Prep Academy in Phoenix, Arizona prior to his junior year.[2][3][4]
Ayton is considered the top player in the 2017 recruiting class by Scout.com and ESPN.[5][6][7] In 2015 he was ranked by Scout as the top prospect in all of high school in their "Ultimate 100" list.[8]
Representing the World Select team, he saw 26:36 minutes of action at the 2016 Nike Hoop Summit, chipping in with eight points to go along with seven rebounds.[9]
