Dean Knudson (born April 29, 1961) is a Wisconsin State Assemblyman for the 30th district. He is also the former Mayor of Hudson, Wisconsin. He was elected to his first term as mayor of Hudson on April 1, 2008, with 87% of the vote.[1] On April 15, 2008 he took office as the 52nd mayor of Hudson.[2] Knudson previously served three terms as Alderman on the Hudson City Council from 1995 to 2001. Knudson replaced Jack Breault who retired after 14 years as Hudson mayor.

Knudson attended North Dakota State University before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 1986.[3]

Electoral history

The 2008 mayoral election took an unusual twist when Knudson's opponent, Todd Erskine, suspended his campaign and released an endorsement of Knudson.[4] "I think he's more qualified for the job," Erskine said of Knudson. "So I'm supporting him."[5]

Knudson was re-elected over challenger Kevin Hartman in 2010 receiving 93% of the vote.
