Death Requisite is a Heavy Metal band from Sarasota, Florida. The band formed in 1999, went on hiatus in 2005, and reunited in 2010.[4] The band describes their style as "Blackened Symphonic Melodic Technical Death Metal" or simply "Extreme Hybrid Metal".[4] The band has played with Living Sacrifice, Extol, Zao, Norma Jean, and Sleeping Giant.[9]

History

Death Requisite formed in 1999 with the lineup of Matthew (Vocals), Thadius (Vocals), Trevor (Rhythm Guitar), Dave Blackmore (Lead Guitar), Dennis (Bass), and Josh (Drums).

In the timespace between 2000-2003 the band recorded a demo, Living Sanctuary, and their debut studio album, From Life to Death. In this timespan, both vocalists left the band, Trevor took over Vocals and then left, and both Josh and Dennis left the band.

These members were replaced by Jamon Dane (Vocals), Gomez (Bass) and William Lee (Drums) in 2003. The band recorded their first EP, Thanatopsis, in 2004. In 2005 the members decided to put the band on hiatus and focus on life.

In 2010, the band resurfaced with Blackmore, Lee, Tyrannus (Vocals), and Cuinn Griffen (Bass). The band recorded two EPs, titled: Prophets of Doom and Second Death, before Tyrannus and Griffen left the band.

Vincent St. James (Vocals), Justin "Regnal the Just" (Bass) came into the band, with the addition of Joseph Moria (Rhythm Guitar). The band is about to release a third EP, titled Revisitation in March 2016.

Name

The band's name is derived from a quote from Stanislaw Lec.

"The first requisite for immortality is death." - Stanislaw Lec[10]
