Deborah F. Stanley
Deborah Flemma Stanley is the current President of the State University of New York at Oswego. She is the 10th successor to hold the college presidency. (First best being the college's founder, Edward Austin Sheldon).
President Stanley was appointed president on August 1, 1997 after serving as interim president from 1995 to 1997. Prior to this, she held the Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs, Provost and served as executive assistant to the college president. President Stanley has also served as a Commissioner for the American Council on Education. She is a member of American Association of State Colleges and Universities Women Presidents group, she is on the Board of Directors of Alliance Bank, a board member of Metropolitan Development Association, and Vice President of the Metropolitan Development Foundation of Syracuse.
Stanley earned a BA degree with honors in English and a JD from Syracuse University College of Law. She is admitted to the practice of law in New York.[1]
