DemonTech series

The DemonTech series is a series of military fantasy novels written by David Sherman and set in a world where demons may be tamed and used to serve somewhat in the same way as technology. Three novels have been published in this series. In early 2005, Sherman announced that the publisher discontinued the series, despite the fact that it remains in print and continues to sell, albeit slowly; as a result, it will most likely remain incomplete until such time as sales pick up. David Sherman's "Surrender or Die," a story set in the DemonTech universe, appears in the anthology So It Begins, by Dark Quest, released May 2009.

The "Technical" Premise of DemonTech

In the world of DemonTech, beings called demons coexist with humans, and may be induced to do the bidding of humans under certain circumstances. These demons may be visible or invisible. They have abilities depending upon their nature, and these abilities facilitate their being used in the place of technological tools such as weapons and medical equipment. While physical tools are also used in the DemonTech universe, demon tools are generally superior, and very frequently must be directed or wielded by specially trained personnel, or for the more advanced demons, by demon control specialists.
