The Derdepoort massacre occurred on the 25th November 1899 in Derdepoort,North-WestTransvaal Republic on the border with the British Bechuanaland Protectorate. Several impi's under Lentshwe, chief of the Kgatla, and their British allies under Colonel G. L. Holdsworth attacked a Boer laager and killed 2 women and kidnapped a further 17 women and children.[1]

Massacre

On 25 November 1899 some of the Bechuanaland Kgatla, under Lentshwe and in alliance with the British under Colonel G. L. Holdsworth, attacked a Boer laager on the Bechuanaland border of the Transvaal.[2] Two women were killed, and 17 woman and children taken captive.[3]
