Desideros
Desideros was an American musical group based in Chicago.
The association of Joe Manuel (lead), Robert Goley (lead), Albert "Eddie" Sullivan (tenor), Marshall Thompson (baritone), Del Brown (tenor), and Creadel "Red" Jones (bass) had one record release on Renee Records in 1960 that went nowhere. The lineup wavered between quintet and quartet. Manuel led the A-side "I Pledge My Love," and Goley the B-side "Flat Foot Charlie;" however, Goley is missing on the A-side.
Two members, Thompson and Jones, became integral parts of The Chi-Lites. Thompson is the anchor of the group, with Robert "Squirrel" Lester being the only other original member. Sullivan previously sung with the Four Gents and later enjoyed a few releases with a family group produced by Marshall Thompson called the Classic Sullivans. Jones left the Chi-Lites once after their run of hits, then came back later, only to be dismissed.
