Dhaka Commerce College (Bengali: ঢাকা কমার্স কলেজ) is a graduate college in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 1989, this was the first college in Dhaka city to specialize in commerce.[1] Dhaka Commerce College is one of the most renowned educational institutions not only in Dhaka Education Board but also in the country. The college is self-financed, free from politics and smoking.[2]The students of this institution receive education both in Bangla and English medium with modern and scientific teaching techniques.[3] The main founder of this college was Prof. Kazi Nurul Islam Faruky.[4]


Dhaka Commerce College was certified as the best educational institution in National Education Week, 1996. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina given the Closing and Crests to founder and former principal Prof. Kazi Faruky for the first time best college in Bangladesh

Courses

The college educates from Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) level to post graduate level. There are ten departments in the college.

Honours and Masters courses have been offered from the session 1994-1995 under National University. Four Year BBA Professional course has been offered from the 1997-1998 session. The current courses offered include the Higher Secondary course along with Honours and Masters courses in regarding English, accounting, finance, management, statistics, economics along with a broader range of postgraduate courses.

After its founding, it soon became of the country's most famous college for its strict rules and regulations.The students call it Dhaka Central Cell. But from its beginning it has been maintaining high quality standards. It got the medal of best college in two times 1996 & 2003.

Since its operation, Dhaka Commerce College was placed in the top 10 colleges in the country in terms of HSC results. Dhaka Commerce College's results in the Dhaka Board for Higher Secondary Certificate level examinations are:[11][12]
