Dhanish Karthik (born 24 July 1990) is an Indian actor. He made his debut as Sanjeev Menon in the Malayalam film Ivide (2015) directed by Shyamaprasad.[1][2]

Personal life

Karthik was born to a Malayalee family. His father Nilambur Karthikeyan is a singer, having worked with singers and musicians such as K.J. Yesudas and Madhuri. Karthik was trained in music by his father, who has sung in over 50 Malayalam films.[3] He started acting part-time in 2009 with his first role being that of "Krishan Ji" in the theaterical production Bollywood Romeo directed by Radhika Vasudeva.[4] In 2010, he graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a minor in South Asian studies, after which he started working in the research department followed by the operations department at J.P. Morgan before resigning in July 2013 to a become a full-time actor. He currently studies at Stella Adler Studio of Acting and The Peoples Improv Theater, both located in New York, NY.[5]

Honors

Karthik was asked to be the chief guest at the "American Days Comedy Show" kickoff event by the Malayalee Association of New Jersey.[6]
