Dharmana Prasada Rao

Dharmana Prasada Rao is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh (AP). He is a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Srikakulam. He is the former Minister for Roads and Buildings (R&B) and a Former Revenue minister of State of AP.[1]

Career

Rao is a senior politician of the Congress Party from Srikakulam District. Dharmana Prasada Rao won 4 terms as an MLA from Srikakulam Assembly Constituency, including the 2009 election.

He served as Textiles, Sports & Water Resource Minister in the cabinet of Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy and Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy. He served as revenue Minister in the cabinet of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. He reached his current role from the position of Village Sarpanch.

Corruption Allegations

The Central Bureau of Investigation (Federal agency) alleged that Vanpic got huge concessions from the revenue department in the form of GOs when Mr Prasada Rao was the minister. The revenue department allegedly facilitated Mr Prasada Rao to illegally acquire lands in favour of Vanpic under the guise of development of the backward region. Mr Prasad Rao had been questioned by the CBI twice earlier. P[2] [3]
