Dialium ovoideum is a tropical[1] species of legume in the Fabaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka. The Sinhala (Sri Lanka) name ගල් සියඹලා (Gal Siyambala) means Pebble Tamarind (ගල්: pebble-like/stone-like/hard).[2]
