Diana Renee Alouise is an American comedian, author, celebrity hairstylist, actress, and producer. She is most known for stand-up comedy, at notable locations such as the Hollywood Improv.[1]

Hairstyling career

Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Diana dropped out of school at 17. By the age of 19, with no formal training, she launched a career as a hair and makeup artist in Beverly Hills.[2] A co-owner of the Bumble and Bumble salon offered her an apprenticeship that involved on-the-job training, and an eventual cosmetology license in the State of California.[3] As she recalls, They [the Bumble and Bumble co-owners] had me sign an affidavit proclaiming I was a South African resident who went to the Waverly Girls High School in Johannesburg, completed my cosmetology license there, and worked as a full-time hairdresser at Bumble and Bumble. This way, I could legally transfer my license over to California.[4]

In 1984 she moved to Umberto, the spacious salon opened by Umberto Savone on Cañon Drive in Beverly Hills. She currently owns Shampoo, a salon in Truckee, California, and continues to style celebrity clients in the Los Angeles area.[5]

Performance and producing career

Alouise has also produced comedy shows[6] and currently produces annual stand-up comedy fundraisers for organizations such at the Humane Society.[7]

Alouise is Executive Producer of One Minute Comic: The Rob Sampson Story, to be distributed by Comedy Dynamics.

Memoir

Alouise currently has memoir under development, called This Is What You Missed: From bank robbers to movie stars, things I should finally tell my mother which details her career as a celebrity hairstylist, her affairs with A-list actors, and varied experiences as a professional entertainer.[8]
