Diattenuator

Diattenuation is the property of a transmitting material in which the transmittance depends on the incident polarization state of light. A diattenuating material will absorb linear polarization along one axis preferentially. It is related to dichroism, which is the same property but usually described in terms of absorption rather than transmission.
