Dick and Dom are a comedy double act consisting of the presenters Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood. They are primarily known for presenting Children's BBC in the 1990s, before moving onto the double BAFTA Award winning Dick and Dom in da Bungalow, a children's entertainment show that was live during weekend mornings on BBC One, CBBC and later BBC Two. The show ran for five series between 2002 and 2006.
From October 2007 to September 2008, they presented The Sunday Morning Show on BBC Radio 1 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Also between 2007 and 2008, they presented Are You Smarter than a 10 Year Old? for two series on Sky 1.
Diddy Dick and Dom, originally a pre-recorded section during Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow, sees them playing themselves as miniaturised puppets. They now have a 30-minute show called Diddy Movies, with 2 series so far.[1] They also starred in two shows on CBBC in 2009, The Legend of Dick and Dom and Da Dick and Dom Dairies (the best of Da Bungalow).
In early 2011, they presented new shows on CBBC: Dick and Dom's Funny Business and Dick and Dom Go Wild, a nature series.[2] They also began hosting the UK version of Splatalot! on CBBC and made their first film appearances in 'Horrid Henry: The Movie', as hosts for the fictional game show 2Cool4School. They also both provide the voices of B1 and B2 in the ABC revived series, Bananas in Pyjamas.
On September 2012, Dick and Dom's Hoopla[3] started on the CBBC Channel, a comedy show in which it sees them host their own travelling funfair with games, acts, performers and celebrity appearances. The show had a positive reaction, however in December 2012, it was reported that Ofcom was to investigate the programme after two competitors were seen vomiting into a bucket after playing a game.[4]
In January 2013, the first episode of Dick and Dom's newest series titled Absolute Genius with Dick and Dom[5] was shown. An educational show that showed geniuses' work throughout the ages and how it has affected the modern world. Each show was dedicated to one genius (starting with Archimedes) and the duo also attempted to recreate their works. A special series titled APPsolute Genius, which focused on video games, aired in 2015.
In February 2013, Dick and Dom were confirmed to be the new voice presenters of the UK version of Takeshi's Castle on Challenge.[6]
From December 2013 to January 2014, Dick and Dom played the roles of King Arthur and Patsy in the West End revival of Spamalot.[7]
In November 2014, Dick and Dom won the 2014 Children's Presenter BAFTA Award for Absolute Genius with Dick and Dom [8] Series 2 of Diddy Movies also won the 2014 Children's Comedy award.[9]
