Dilantha Malagamuwa

Dilantha Ranjula Bandara Malagamuwa (born June 24, 1963 in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka) is a Sri Lankan racing driver.[1][2][3] He is the best known racing driver Sri Lanka has ever produced currently racing for the Dilango Racing Team.[4]

Early life

He was born on June 24, 1963 in Kurunagala and received his education at the prestigious Trinity College Kandy. He started racing at the age 16 by winning a motorcycle race. His two sisters encouraged him and persuaded his father to buy him a Yamaha TZ350.[5][6] In 1985 he went to Japan and in 1997 became the first non Japanese Asian to compete in the Japan top level Formula Nippon (F3000).[7]
