Dileesh Pothan is a Indian film director and actor known for his Malayalam films. He has acted in popular films like Salt N' Pepper, 22 Female Kottayam, Idukki Gold, Gangster, and Iyobinte Pusthakam. As an associate director, he has assisted director Aashiq Abu in films like 22 Female Kottayam, Da Thadiya, and Gangster.[1] He was the Chief Associate Director in the 2014 film Tamaar Padaar.

His directorial debut, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, starring Fahadh Faasil, was released on February 5, 2016.[2][3][4]

Personal Life

Born on 19 February 1981 as Dileesh Philip in Kuruppanthara town in Kerala's Kottayam district, Pothan did his schooling at Emmanuel's High School, Kothanalloor. After pre-degree from K E College, Mannanam, he pursued BSc at St. Philomena's College, Mysore. Due to his keen interest in drama and cinema, he followed up with an MA in Theatre Arts at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala and MPhil in Theatre Arts from MG University, Kottayam.
