Dilip Ghosh (born 1 August 1964) is an Indian politician and current president of the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP West Bengal).[3][4] [5][6]

Early and personal life

Ghosh was born at Kuliana village near Gopiballavpur of Paschim Medinipur district, West Bengal on 1st of August 1964 in a poor farmer family. He is the second of the four sons of Late Bholanath Ghosh and Puspalata Ghosh. After completing his schooling at the village schools, he moved to Jhargram for higher education. Post completion of his formal education, he was offered good number of jobs but refused to join. For he wanted to serve the nation & decided to join the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a Pracharak. Since then, Ghosh has worked in various parts of the country in this capacity.

Career

Ghosh was the in-charge of RSS in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and even worked as an assistant to former RSS chief KS Sudarshan.

He has come to BJP from RSS a year back & was appointed as WB State General Secretary.

In 2015, Ghosh was elected as WEST BENGAL State President of BJP.[7]
