Diploid Love is the debut solo album by Brody Dalle, former frontwoman of The Distillers and Spinnerette. The digital download was released on April 28, 2014 in the United States and April 29 in Canada, with the CD and vinyl record set to be released on May 19.[2] The lead single, "Meet the Foetus/Oh the Joy", was streamed for free on Soundcloud on February 9[1] before being released to iTunes on February 17.[3]

The album features collaborations from Garbage's Shirley Manson, The Strokes' Nick Valensi, Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age and Emily Kokal of Warpaint.[2]

Reception

Diploid Love has received mostly positive reviews so far, with NME rating it 7 out of 10 while Rolling Stone rated it four out five stars.[4]

The album debuted at #33 on the UK Top 100 charts and #7 on the Heatseakers Album chart in the U.S. It also debuted and peaked at #89 on the Australian Albums Chart[5]
