Diskono

Diskono is an independent record label and anonymous group of artists and agents, now based somewhere self-classified throughout Scotland, Belgium, France, and the United States of America. Diskono, and its offshoot imprint Penthouse Hotplate, has nurtured divergent forms of electronica to all manner of post rock and indie; downtempo breaks to minimal techno; sparse piano compositions to abstract / explosive noise and angular punk pop. Perhaps best known for the discovery of artists such as Felix Kubin, Janek Schaefer and Phenomenological Boys, as well as being instrumental in the pretentious de-construction of acid house, rave traditions, and being the first and only ever Scottish artists to be awarded the top Scottish Arts Council grant from submission under pseudonym - the exhibition (Re)visionland with Alejandra Salinas & Aeron Bergman went on to win the Grand Prix Ars Electronica award. Currently, they are observing the re-emergence of Jan Van Den Dobbelsteen.
