The District of Kavajë (Albanian: Rrethi i Kavajës) was one of the 36 Districts of Albania. Centrally located in the Western Lowlands region of the country, it stretched over an area of 401 km2 (155 sq mi).[1] It consisted of 2 municipalities and 8 communes which made up 67 villages and towns.[1] Its population at the 2001 census was 78,179 inhabitants.[1][2]
