"Do Your Thing" is a song by English electronic music duo Basement Jaxx. It originally appeared on their second studio album Rooty (2001) and was released as a single in 2005 by record label XL. It reached number 32 in the UK Singles Chart.[1]

Lead vocal is by Lisa Kekaula from the Bellrays.[2]

Video

The video, a directorial debut for Kim Gehrig, features people in a park wearing t-shirts which mirror the song lyrics.[3]

Usage in media

Via Astralwerks, the song appeared on the soundtrack of EA Canada's snowboard racing game SSX 3.[4]

The song was used on the first teaser trailer of the 2016 American 3D computer animated comedy film The Secret Life of Pets.[5]

The song was featured in the 2006 computer animated film Barnyard and in the 2002 romantic comedy Bend It Like Beckham. It was also featured in the opening credits of the 2003 comedy Just Married.

The song was used on an Android advert to celebrate the gay marriage court ruling in 2015.
