Donald Aubrecht (July 15, 1929 – July 13, 2012) was a longtime Pittsburgh Police leader, who served as acting Pittsburgh Police Chief from May 11, 1987 – May 22, 1987. He first joined the force in 1957 working his way up to Assistant Chief in the mid 1980s and then resuming his Assistant Chief status on May 23, 1987 until his retirement from the force in 1992.[1]
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War (1950-1953).[2]
He died on July 13, 2012.[3]
