Dong Zhisen (born June 24, 1960) is a journalist from Jincheng, Kinmen, Fujian, Republic of China. Dong used to work as a reporter for China Times and United Daily News. He covered mainly Taipei Municipal news. He was the former presenter of the TVBS political talk show《2100全民開講. He has a Taiwanese Hokkien accent when speaking in Mandarin.

Professional background

Starting as a reporter, Dong has covered news mainly about Taipei. He then shifted to political commentary. In March 12, 2013, when 李濤 announced a temporary withdrawal 《2100全民開講》, Dong took over.

He is the current host of the UFO Radio's(飛碟電台) midday show.

Controversies

Political commentary

On the air, Dong has long accused the media of presenting misleading information. He claimed to be a neutral commentator.

Death of Hung Chung-chiu

During his radio show Dong criticized the victim's sister, Hung Tzu-yung, for taking advantage of the incident.

Sunflower Student Movement

Dong mocked the movement as a violent independence movement.[2] After the 2014 Taipei Metro attack, Dong questioned where all those patriotic youth, had gone when the society most needed them. He also stated that he would have fought with the murderer if he were aboard the train[3]
