Double Toasted is a podcast site based in Austin Texas, bringing a comedic tone to the latest Hollywood movie reviews, current events, entertainment news and pop culture commentary.
History
Spill.com (A film and video game review website started in 2007) was sold to Hollywood.com, under R&S Investments in December 2013. Korey Coleman (founder) was going to move to Turkey with his girlfriend Mia but realized there was a demand from the Spill.com fanbase to create another website. Web personality Brian Brushwood encouraged Coleman to create a Kickstarter campaign in which he complied and set a low goal of raising $30,000. Once the Kickstarter campaign launched, the goal of $30,000 was exceeded with the final goal reaching $133,860. As a result of a successful campaign doubletoasted.com was created. In less than 1 year, Double Toasted has grown to have over 3 million viewers total, and averaging more than 200,000 viewers per month. The cast was small and started with Korey Coleman (founder) and Martin Thomas, who has been working with Korey for more than 15 years, since his cable access days. Starting out, they did three shows a week – The Sunday Service, The Weekly Roast and Toast, and The Movie Review Extravaganza. With a growing cast, they have added more shows, titled The Daily Double Talk, The Casual Call in Show and The High Score. These shows are featured as free audio podcasts or can be viewed as streaming and archived video though a paid subscription.

Review system
During the Movie Review Extravaganza, Coleman, Thomas and McGrew rate a film. The ratings are based on how much one should pay to see it, and each one has a high/low variation. From highest to lowest, they are:
BETTER THAN SEX!: A rating withheld by the crew, this film is excellent, and pushes the boundaries of cinema as an art form.
Full Price: A very enjoyable film which is worth paying full price for in the cinema.
Matinee: This film is worth seeing in the cinema, but not worth paying full price for, or at least during the initial theatrical run.
Rental: Can be enjoyed, but still has a variety of flaws. This is worth waiting paying very little to see after the theatrical release.
Some Ol' Bullshit: The crew recommend against paying any money to see this film, and has very little that redeems it.
F*** YOU!: The crew actively recommends against seeing this film at all. This rating is typically given when a critic is angered or offended by a film's content, and indicates that it has absolutely no redeeming qualities. This review is known within the community for its impromptu creation during a review of Disaster Movie on Spill.com, where the movie had angered Korey to such an extent that he invented the rating on the spot.
Once the review is posted on the site, members of the community give the review a one to five star rating, depending on what they thought of the film.
