Doug Ericksen (born January 28, 1969) is an American politician of the Republican Party. He is a member of the Washington State Senate, District 42.[1]
42nd Legislative Senator Doug Ericksen joined the Washington State Senate's Majority Coalition Caucus and serves as the Chairman of the Senate Energy, Environment and Telecommunications Committee.
In May 2013, the Associated Press reported that Ericksen was "the biggest beneficiary of lobbyist expense accounts" among Washington state legislators during the first four months of 2013, receiving the equivalent of US$2,029.30 in free meals.[2]
In February of 2016, Erickson successfully added language to HB2346 that effectively destroyed the Washington solar incentive program, or made the future availability of incentives appear so tenuous that it caused purchasers to reasonably wonder if the solar installations will actually pencil out. His amendment to HB 2346 provided that it immediately expires if a law imposing limits on greenhouse emissions is passed. Corporate constituents of his do produce such greenhouse emissions.
