Douglas Ousterhout

Douglas K. Ousterhout, MD, DDS, is a craniofacial surgeon with a practice in San Francisco, CA, USA.[1][2] He offers facial feminization surgery for trans women, facial masculinization surgery for trans men, and other aesthetic craniofacial and maxilliofacial procedures.[3]

His specialty is facial feminization surgery for trans women, and he is widely considered the foremost facial feminization surgeon in the United States.[4] He has written a number of books about the techniques which he pioneered for those practices.[5][6][7] Though it varies by patient, his approach encompasses the entire face, typically advancing the hairline, making the forehead smaller and rounder, reducing the brow ridge, shortening and narrowing the nose, shortening the upper lip, shortening the chin, narrowing the jaw, and reducing the laryngeal prominence. The procedures are often done all at once in a full day of surgery.
