Douglas Simmonds (18 February 1958 – 15 March 2011) was a British child actor, who played the part of Doughnut in the British television show Here Come the Double Deckers.

Simmonds left acting to work in science and medicine, training as a medical student before becoming a theoretical physicist and researcher.[1] After working for several years for the Department of Health as an expert in medical computing, he retired and concentrated on cultivating his garden.

On 15 March 2011 Simmonds suffered a fatal heart attack.[1]
