Doximity is an online social networking service for U.S. physicians. Launched in March 2011, Doximity has over 500,000 verified physician members as of August 2015.[2][3][4][5] Doximity offers doctors a searchable directory of 700,000 U.S. physicians as well as HIPAA-secure case collaboration, physician-to-physician messaging, and curated medical news.[6]
Investors
In April 2014, the company announced it had raised a $54 million financing round led by the venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson and the mutual fund company T. Rowe Price. Morgan Stanley Investment Management also invested. This investment brought Doximity's total funding to $81 million.[7]
Doximity received $10.8 million in venture capital funding from Emergence Capital Partners and Interwest Partners in March 2011 and $17 million in Series B funding led by Morgenthaler Ventures in September 2012.[8][9]
