Dream 100 FM is an Independent Local Radio station that formerly broadcast 24 hours a day across north east Essex and south east Suffolk from Colchester. Since the inception of sister station Town 102 in Ipswich in 2006, Town 102 has taken over the South Suffolk broadcasting area, leaving Dream 100 to focus on North Essex.

History

The station has its roots as Mellow 1557 on 1557MW in 1990. On September 1, 1998, it was sold by Radio First to Tindle Radio Ltd and later in 1998 became an FM station. Former pirate radio DJ Bill Rollins has been at the Tendring station through its various evolutions, from day 1 in 1990.

Broadcast Area

Dream broadcasts on 100.2FM from a transmission site Telstar Nurseries at Cook's Green near Little Clacton in Tendring at 2KW. But moved sites in January 2011 to Valleybridge Road which is where the new Freeview site for Clacton is.
