After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) east of Przeworno, 13 kilometres (8 mi) south-east of Strzelin, and 50 kilometres (31 mi) south of the regional capital Wrocław.
